The team also dedicates their time to deliver great food, beverages, functions and events for the Royal Hotel West Wyalong & the Temora Hotel. We want to ensure everyone who visits has a fantastic experience. 

Ben & Rachel Murrells

Owners/operators of Murrells Hospitality Group

Murrells Hospitality Group started in 2011 when Ben & Rachel purchased the leasehold on the Central Hotel, Ungarie. 
They have since then grown their Riverina based company to operate the Royal Hotel West Wyalong, Temora Hotel, Ardeanal Motel and they have their very own pizza wholesale business – Slices Pizza! 
Ben and Rachel love family time and have two beautiful children!
They’re looking forward to the future of Murrells Hospitality Group and bring more venues on board in and around the Riverina! 

Wendy Lee - Venue Manager

Royal Hotel

After leading a hand to a friend as a tradies assistant, the small town pub owner had bigger ideas for her. This is when Wendy (after some convincing), commenced a traineeship within a small hotel in West Wyalong. Wendy completed her traineeship and continued employment for sometime before moving to Thredbo and then QLD. When Wendy decided to move back home, she commenced working at the Cowal Gold Mine for 10 years, before being convinced her true calling was within the hospitality industry and took the role as Venue Manager at the Royal Hotel in West Wyalong. She has a range of experience within the hospitality industry – from small town pubs, to inner city restaurants, outter suburb bars to mothership hostess.  

Wendy’s favourite sound is the sound of laughter and happiness and set’s out to be the highlight of everyone’s day. 

Derek Saibi | Venue Manager

Temora Hotel

Originally from Florida, Derek has 20 years of experience in the U.S., New Zealand, and Australia, in all areas of the hospitality industry. After a brief foray into sales in 2013, Derek has returned to his passion for customer service at The Temora Hotel and looks forward to a bright future within the Murrells hospitality group.

Anurudh Gupta | Head Chef

Temora Hotel

Anurudh started his career as a trainee chef with Taj Hotels and has worked with renowned Executive Chefs in both India and the UK.

His 23 years experience has lead him to work for companies all over the world including; Taj Raddisson, Hilton UK, Latin American chain – Las Lguanas UK, and Real Estate company DLF India LTD. 

Before joining the team at the Temora Hotel, Anurudh was working in an Indian Restaurant in Melbourne’s CBD, cooking Indian curries, biryani and  tandoori kebabs. 

His expertise in the cooking world ranges from Italian, Latin American, Regional Indian & Pan Asian Cuisine. 

Anurudh is a family man, his wife, Bindiya worked as a regional training manager for Organic Harvest, his eldest son is pursuing a BBA Honours Degree and his youngest son has just completed high school and is currently in university. 

Roydon Dsouza | Sous Chef

Roy has worked in kitchen’s all over Australia and the world for more than 8 years! He has worked for some of the biggest names in Hotels including, Intercontinental Hotel Groups, Mirador Hotels, Costa Cruise lines, Crown Plaza Hotels, Accor Hotels, Atura Hotels, Emirates resorts, shangri-la Hotels, plus a range of cafes, pubs, fine dining and speciality restaurants. 

To get to where he is now, Roy studied a bachelor of hospitality, bakery and confectioners, advanced diploma in cuisine, food production and patisserie, gastronomy and food science. 

Roy loves to experiment with food and cook amazing dishes for the Royal Hotel. His expert dishes range from, French, Italian, Greek, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Indian, Mexican, Western & continental foods.

Jaq McCulloch

Marketing Manager

Jaq has a bachelor degree in business, majoring in marketing which she completed in 2017, however, she has always worked or been apart of hospitality industry. Her first job was at the Royal Hotel in Tumut, where she worked all apsects of the hotel – bar, bistro, gaming & management for around 4-5 years.
She hasn’t lived in Wagga her whole life. In her early 20’s she lived in Airlie Beach QLD and got to explore the Great Barrier Reef & the Whitsunday Islands. Her worked consisted of taking people out on scuba diving & snorkelling trips, overnight sailing and day trips. 
Jaq also lived in Wollongong where she took a break working in the hospitality Industry and worked at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre. Here, she got to see the Arts Culture, which she fell in love with. Not only was this world exciting to work in – she got to meet some very famous people. 
She got the travel bug last year on her very first overseas holiday to Italy & Greece and loved every minute of it! Planning to travel more in the future. 
Jaq, is very excited tobe working for Murrells Hospitality Group and is excited to be a part of a team that will and has been achieving great things!
